THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE RAV KALMENSON

By Dayan D. Oualid

Dayan D. OUALID - director:
Following a three-and-a-half year military service in Israel, Dayan David Oualid joined the ESEC Graduate School of Cinematographic Studies in Paris. He created with classmates the Association of Young Independent Filmmakers, thanks to which he produced several short films and other audiovisual products. In 2019, he directed and embodies the main character of the short film DIBBUK and founded the company TROIS JOURS DE MARCHE with Luc Finalteri, Guillaume Schmitt, Raphaël Pierre-Bloch and Emilie Potet.
He just finished in 2022 a short film entitled THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE RAV KALMENSON in co-production with LES FILMS DU CYGNE. The pre-production of the feature film adaptation of DIBBUK in co-production with LEGENDE FILMS is under preparation.
With a strong desire to mix a social and fantastic cinema, Dayan writes around current themes with a certain nostalgia for the 90s and a strong esoteric and spiritual background.

That day, the rabbi of the community of devotees, Rav Kalmenson, an impressive man with his charisma and his long beard, will challenge Yoel by announcing to him that his son “is lighting up”.
