Survival thriller – 6x45’ series selected for the 2025 Rendez-Vous de la Création Francophone at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival

Matthieu Bernard :
Matthieu Bernard began his career in advertising and journalism before working as a reader for publishing houses Denoël and Stock. He collaborated on the television program Gaïa on France 5 for eight years. He co-wrote a stage play, La Folle Aventure, and a thriller novel, Les Gardiens de l’obscur. He then spent 18 years as a head writer, supervising various audiovisual fiction projects.
Since 2019, he has devoted himself to writing TV series and has won several awards, including the FAIA and the SACD OCS Fund for the series extra. The show extra. was selected for several international festivals in 2024 and 2025. He is also the creator of the series Phoenix, winner of the European Writers Club in 2023, filmed in 2024 for France Télévisions and ZDF, and awarded at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival in 2025.

Jonathan Hazan:
A graduate of ESEC, Jonathan began his career on film sets in 2005 with Les Films du Requin, where he worked on the production of several feature films, including Héros by Bruno Merle and L’Aube du monde by Abbas Fahdel.
In 2009, he joined Les Films du Cygne, where he produced more than 30 acclaimed short films, including Le Frère by Julien Darras (award-winner, Clermont-Ferrand 2010), Argile by Michaël Guerraz (César shortlist 2014), Mur by Andra Tévy (César shortlist 2016), Fugazi by Laurent Michelet (Magritte selection 2018), Les Bigorneaux by Alice Vial (winner of the 2018 César for Best Fiction Short), Beyond the Sea by Hippolyte Leibovici (Magritte nominee 2024), and Cultes by David Padilla (César selection 2025).
Alongside his work as a producer, he has explored writing and directing. He directed two short films: Sortie de Route (Clermont-Ferrand 2011), broadcast on France 3 and awarded the CNC Quality Prize, and L’Occupant (2016), broadcast on 13ème Rue and OCS.
In 2023, he co-wrote and co-directed, with Matthieu Bernard, the series Extra. (10x26’), which premiered at the 2024 Séries Mania Festival in Lille and was broadcast on Ciné+ and OCS in January 2025.
